On the occasion of July Uprising Day, the martyrs who lost their lives during the uprising were remembered with honor in Nilphamari on Tuesday morning.
Floral wreaths was laid and a special prayer session was held at the grave of Shaheed Rubel in Arajipara village, Dhobadanga, of Gorgram Union under Sadar upazila. On behalf of the state, Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nayiruzzaman and Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance) Mohammad Mohsin offered floral tributes.
Following them, tributes were paid by Nilphamari Municipal Administrator Md. Saidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of District Council Dipankar Roy, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Saiful Islam, and several other government and non-government organizations.
After the floral tributes, special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs and for the quick recovery of the wounded from the July events. Besides, the administration paid tribute at the graves of the remaining three martyrs in the district.
