Chandpur Correspondent
Bangladesh Coast Guard has provided emergency medical assistance to a sick launch passenger in Chandpu on Tuesday morning.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque informed this in a press release.
The press release said that on Monday, 04 August 2025, a critically ill person departed from Barishal to Dhaka by launch for advanced treatment. At around 6:30 PM, as the launch reached the vicinity of Harina Ferry Ghat, the gas in the oxygen cylinder began to run low, putting the patient’s life at risk. Immediately, one of the patient’s relatives on board sought assistance from the Coast Guard for a new oxygen cylinder.
Based on the information received, a medical team from Coast Guard Station Chandpur promptly proceeded to the launch with a new oxygen cylinder on a high-speed boat. Subsequently, the new gas cylinder was connected, removing the risk to the patient's life.
The Coast Guard is always committed to public service and will continue this dedication in the future.
