
Hilsa out of reach to common people in Amtali in peak season as prices up

It was reported that at one time the Rupali Elish was rich in the Bay of Bengal and the sea of Mohana, Bolswar and Poiskhali rivers. But in the evolution of time, the Bay of Bengal and Sagar Mohana Pigera, Baleshwar and Poiskhali are not caught in the fishermen of the hilsa fishermen. The hunting season in Elith starts from June to November. The filled season starts from the end of July and the whole of November. At this time, the fishermen were caught in the Bay of Bengal and the Mohana rivers. Amtali upazila has 5,900 fishermen. Most of these fishermen hunt hilsa. Although the fishermen were caught in the nets in the sea and rivers, the sky was thrown at the price. The price of hilsa is outside the poor and middle class people.
The Taltali Fisheries landing center said that hilsa fish were sold in four categories. 25-5 grams, 3-5 grams, 3-5 grams and 5 grams. The price of the four categories of hilsa is sold in the first category hilsa at Tk 5,000, the second category hilsa is Tk 5,000, the third category hilsa is Tk 5,000 and the fourth category hilsa is sold for Tk. It is small hilsa and the first category of hilsa, Tk 5, the second category of hilsa is Tk. Buying hilsa at such a price is beyond the power of the poor and middle class families. Delwar Howlader claims that most poor and middle class families have not been able to face the hilsa in the last two years.
Fish dealer Mojibur Rahman Farazi said the hilsa victims of the fishermen of the Sagar and Pigera rivers are not sold in the local market. The fish are exported to Dhaka, Jessore, Khulna, Satkhira, Pabna, Gazipur, Madaripur, Kalkini, Shariatpur, Naria and Patchar areas. Of these, large size hilsa is exported to Madaripur district. Demand for large size hilsa in the district is high, said businessman Tuku Sikder. Expatriates in that district purchase the hilsa.
Md. Tuku Sikder, wholesale fish trader at the Taltali landing center said that no fish at the landing center is sold in the local market. All the fish here are exported to the north by bus or by truck. In Madaripur district, most of the hilsa are exported here. The demand for the hilsa of the people of that district is high. He also said that the amount of hilsa, the price of the local people does not have the ability to buy hilsa with so much money. In addition, the price of the hilsa of this landing center is determined based on the needs of the wholesalers. They sell the hilsa fish by bargaining.
Some teachers, who did not want to be named, said that in the last two years I could not buy any kind of hilsa. It is not possible to buy the hilsa of income people like us at the price of hilsa. Now those who buy the hilsa are the luxury of the neat.
Amtali Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Tanmay Kumar Das said, "I have no directive to determine the price of hilsa. There are directives from the senior authorities on the increase and preservation of hilsa production. He added that if the price of the hilsa was within reach, ordinary people could buy.
Barguna District Fisheries Officer Md. Mohsin Mia said, "The prices of hilsa fish are very much but my office does not work on the price." He added that there is a committee in the district to determine the price of the hilsa, the meeting will be discussed at the meeting of the committee.
