
Plantation campaign in Durgapur inspired by 'July Uprising Through My Eyes '

As part of the observance of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, a youth-driven tree plantation campaign titled “July Uprising Through My Eyes” was held in Durgapur, Rajshahi.
The event was supported by the Rajshahi District Council and supervised by UNO Sabrina Sharmin.
The campaign was inaugurated on Tuesday at 11 AM in Upazila Parishad premises where UNO Sabrina Sharmin handed over saplings to the heads of various educational institutions.
On the opening day, a total of 197 saplings of various species were distributed among 10 educational institutions in the upazila.
The distribution was as follows: Durgapur Degree College: 23,Fazil Madrasa: 20 Government Pilot Model High School: 20 Girls’ High School: 21, Amgachi Saharbanu High School: 20, Pananagar Bimukhi High School: 21, Debipur High School: 19, Hatkanpara Jobeda Degree College: 19, Koyamajampur High School: 17, Kathalbari Shaheed Abul Kashem School & College: 17
The event was attended by Upazila Engineer Masuk-e-Mohammad, and students from various institutions including Sourav Rahman (Rajshahi City College), Tarek Ahmed Siddiqui (Barendra University), Nusrat Jahan, Umme Tuj Mohona, Noyon Hasan Rabbi, Mehedi Hasan, Masum Billah (Shaheed Mamun Police Line School & College), Anirban Sarker and Shahriar (Shah Mokhdum College), Suyeb Imtiaz Omio and Lokman Mahdi Samin (New Govt. College). Officers from different departments of the Upazila Parishad were also present.
UNO Sabrina Sharmin said, the July Uprising is not just history — it is a symbol of awareness, green activism, and social awakening. This tree plantation initiative will play a vital role in raising environmental awareness and protecting nature for future generations.”
